Unless I missed something, when Joe started his allotment it was infested with mares-tails. When he started to harvest his crops, they appeared to be not in sight and were never referred to. I've got a damp soil and mares-tails are commonplace. Did he eradicate them? If so, how?
I suppose somebody must have weeded them out first before the camera crew got there and started to shoot.
I think if you look carefully on a few episodes you can still see mare's tails scattered around on his beds, even if they are few and far between. I didn't spot any this week but sure I did the other week.

Joe is keeping on top of it, I have Mares Tail in my garden and after June is out of the way the growth does slow down. If I weed once a week I can keep it out of sight.
Joe has also been putting cardboard and plastic down as he plants stuff so maybe it has helped.
