Does anyone recall a Gardeners World special back in early September featuring R. de Thame creating a new border?
If so, does anyone know if the plan/plant list was made availble or can recall such detail?
Thanks in hope
yes, i saw that 1 hour special... must be terrible having to agonise over a 20 meter border! i did not see any list, so good luck.
There was some wobbly camerawork over Rachel's handwritten drawings and list, oh, don't get me going!
Does she have a blog? You might get more joy posting a message on it, or on the GW producer's blog.
Good idea!
I'll give it a go
I remember seeing lots of Stipa tenuissima. There were quite a few roses too, the names of which escape me. Stipa gigantea (Golden oats) was also used. There was a very beautiful (IMO) raspberry-coloured achillea but I didn't catch the name of that one at all (sorry).
Thanks for this Bluedoyenne.
I remember thinking towards the end of the programme (the bit when they revisited a year later) that the grasses seemed to have swamped her border a bit - particulary roses. That then got me thinking as to whether grasses compliment roses at all.
Anyway, rambling a bit now, again, many thanks
