W H Smiths have "how to grow your own veg" and "how to cook your own veg" for £5 each.
I remember the Jerusalem artichoke chips, very tasty.
Carol's books are really good. I have tried several recipes and they're very tasty. Gardening tips are good too. I don't understand why she wasn't chosen to take over as lead on Gardeners World, she's so inspiring - not like that crushing bore Toby whom my daughter (a non gardener) says sounds like he should be on kids TV! Still, typical Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, ageist and sexist!!!!!!!
i just thought if anybody had watched the series they might want the books
Carol Klein is the new gardening writer in The Lady weekly magazine, starting with the current issue. She grew up in Walkden, Manchester so that makes her a Northener and OK by me, and I still garden 'oop that part of the werld' even though I married a Southerner.
Got the cook one today! Our first house was in Walkden & I dont live a million miles away now so I always listen to/watch Carol.
Does anybody remember a series called 'Real Gardens' I think that she co-presented with Monty Don in the 80's I think on C4?
I can remember really enjoying it. Jo.
Yes, think it was actually in the 90's. Monty was into his jewellery business in the 80's. It was on Channel 4 and the third presenter was Ann-Marie Payne. Still got several of the programmes on tape and dig them out every now and again to cheer me up. What a brilliant series that was. Hope you're taking note of this, Monty
Ooops......sorry a senior moment!! It was, of course, Anne-Marie Powell.
I was lucky enough to buy the cook book also.
