Wish I had Sky! it looks really good. Wonder if/when it'll make it on 'freeview' for us south of border?
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
You could probably watch it on iplayer; usually goes on the next day: Hope you can:

Have you got a freeview box? because I am led to believe you can "tune" in other stations with required frequency etc etc but I am sure there is someone around far more knowledgeable who could advise. Certainly worth a view, as you can see from the generally complimentary comments on the board, if you can get it although amazing does get a 10% commission!!!
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
I can just about cope with i-player, but OH pretty good with technical 'stuff', so shall ask re digi box. Know we can get Wales, not sure re Scotland though- still worth a try.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
I'll find the number of the station for you:
Welshcol did you arrange that commission for me? Thanks you are a dear:

971 - Jo
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Thanks for that, I will ask OH nicely to try & sort out.J.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Amazing you cannot be beautiful and technical 971 is the Sky box number.
The free view option is to punch in Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland frequency, if possible, as a user specified channel selection!!.
I will have to report this to Jim and he will cut your commission from 10 > 5%.

2 sleeps and 2 whole days; and 1 hour 15 minutes to go:
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
why is this only on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland and Sky - I don't live in Scotland and do not have Sky - with only the failing GW to look out for - I may have to turn my licence in.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
you have a computer nocturnowl so you can download it on bbc iplayer any time after the programe for seven days .you can also watch it on iplayer but i find it better downloaded, mavoman
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Nocturnowl; the reason Beechgrove Garden is on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland is because it is a Scottish Gardening programme; BUT as Mavoman says you should be able to watch on iplayer; It is usually on there within 24 hours:
There are programmes on other regional stations that we don't get in Scotland:

1 day to go!
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
1 day to go!Â
This is worse than waiting for the result on the numerous cookery programmes where the over-egged pause is longer than the actual programme!!.
Not that I would ever accuse you of over-egging Beechgrove but I think this countdown is making the hypertension of the avid "real" gardeners worse who cannot await for BG's return.

20 + half hours before Beechgrove Garden is on:

Worth waiting for-great to see the old team back in action.
More useful practical, gardening in five minutes with BG than half an hour of the old GW. A tried, tested and successful format with some real gardeners as presenters who put the gardening first before the ego's.
Well done.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Great stuff starting with the winter rain charts and continuing with the hedging trial and all the other wonderful stuff from a big group of presenters all more interested in the topic than displays of ego/personality.
Well done to them and the whole production, sound and camera team.

Glad you enjoyed it;
Just waiting for Friday now;
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Why whats happening Friday?? or is that when you pick up your commission??
Was it up to your expectations?. Thought Jim was a bit subdued but he is a bit outnumbered by the "fairer" sex!!
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Bliss
Beechgrove says, does and shows it all.
Gardening paradise!
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Brilliant; Jim did sound a bit out of sorts:
I think there is a sort of gardening programme on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú2 on Friday;have you not heard of it; Have a look and then come on and tell me what you thought of it;
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
I don't think Jim's been well. When he was on the Beechgrove Potting Shed radio show 2 weeks ago he sounded terrible, his voice was very hoarse, he sounded a lot better last night.
I couldn't understand why they HAD to use pot grown plants for the hedge as opposed to bare root - did they explain??
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Conifers are evergreen so don't have a dormant season so, unlike deciduous trees and shrubs, cannot be sold as bare roots as their growth cycle would be disturbed and possibly permanently halted.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Still not on i-player! Oh well at least I know where to look now.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
I have heard such good things about this programme I emailed the show to check that it would be available on the iplayer (- us southern softies can't get it on the telly and I won't pay for sky). The very nice lady replied that it would be available for the 7 days after transmission but I can't find it. Anyone had any luck? I need my fix.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
no hooton its not on yet and im craving for it mavoman
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Mavoman just wait; It will be worth it in the end: I do hope it comes on soon just remember the video has a long way to travel; from Aberdeen down to the Beeb in London: Mind you I could have taped it and sent it to you in less time:
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Thanks for the explanation Obelixx. It's something I've never given any thought to before. It didn't register that they were evergreens. ( Unfortunately I need things spelled out for me!)
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
For those of you still looking, it's available on iplayer now. Just watched it.
Good programme.
Too short though. 30 mins just not enough for a proper gardening programme.
Link to this forum: Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 1st April
Hi all, here is the link to the first programme on iplayer:
Phyll
