Hidden messages

  I have just been reading the thread started by Ken, I can't understand how everyone knows what the thread was about if it has been modded? Is there someway of reading it?
  
  Also, I will put my five-penneth in! Isn't it about time the Beeb treated us all as adults? Are we not allowed to have opinions?

  Hi there. Just so you are aware, the alert button is not the preserve of moderators alone. When someone hits this button, moderators will investigate a complaint and make a call on whether the message should be permanently hidden/modded. Unfortunately trolls sometimes exploit this option. In the case of the thread you are referring to, I don't know if this was the case, but as explained I can't discuss the reasons for moderation on the boards.
  Apologies to those who know the House Rules off by heart, bu here's a reminder for the less familiar. Messages can be failed for these reasons:
  
  "If they are considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others
  Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable
  Contain swear words or other language likely to offend
  Break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes breach of copyright, defamation and contempt of court.
  Advertise products or services for profit or gain
  Are seen to impersonate someone else
  Include contact details such as phone numbers, postal or email addresses
  Are written in anything other than English - Welsh and Gaelic may be used where marked
  Contain links to other websites which break our Editorial Guidelines
  Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others
  Are considered to be ‘spam’, that is posts containing the same. or similar, message posted multiple times
  Are considered to be off-topic for the particular message board
  The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú welcomes feedback, both positive and negative, about our programmes and services but please make sure your comments are in line with the above House Rules. Repeatedly posting personal or offensive comments about individual members of the public or people who work for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú may be considered harassment.   It's a pity the moderators don't listen when we alert them abouut the latest troll incarnation. Collectively, we're really quite good at spotting him. It's not as if the mods have to look for him themselves.

  Funny isn't it. I felt offended and abused on three occasions ans hit the button in the last couple of years and ss told nothing had broken the rules. However, some people's posts seem to be moderated all the time when in my opinion nothing wrong has been said and the rules have not been broken. Trolls seem to get left for days on end and never moderarated!
