Dose any one remember Bob Flowerdew, from gardeners world past? he was the wacky one with long hair that used to make all sorts of things from old tyers and had loads of money saving tips.
Dose anyone know wheather or not he still does TV or not, i dont seem to be able to find much info on him.
I wouldn't mind seeing him back as a presenter on Gardeners World, even if it was only occasionally.
I think he still does his bit on Gardeners Question Time, Radio 4
He is still about as I saw him at the Gardener's World show a couple of years ago. I agree though someone should get him back on GW.
By the way I think Alys is fine, she obviously shares a passion for scarves like Carole!
Overall I think the new series is ok.
I like Bob too and would be nice to see him again.
Bob's my favourite expert on Gardeners' Question Time and I would love to see him on TV again.

Thanks for all your responses, lets hope he make a re-appearance on GW very soon.
Bob F is a busy man -
I agree totally re-Bob Flowerdew and have emailed the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú to suggest we have him on screen. He still makes GWQT worth listening to and his sense of humour is bril as well. He manages to entertain without being patronising even when he's handed a brown cutting from a plant that's clearly dead and is asked what's wrong. His practical advice is the best I reckon and he always avoids generalisations by reminding people of the hugely varied soil types and climate in this country. If I miss GWQT I always go to i-player.

Bob Flowerdew has also just published a new book, a sort of complete guide to organic gardening, so he's still very much around. I haven't seen the book, but the RHS gave it a very good review recently. It would be good to see him back on GW as well as listen to him on GQT,
Bob writes regularly in the Gardeners World magazine.
I have one of his books. He's very opinionated, but what good gardener isn't?
I would love to see him back. He an Alys could compare tyres and ring-pull tin cans.
I have his Gourmet Gardener book. It's a treat in itself.
I've just watched the latest Gardener's World (taped it last week), and the breakneck speed of talking, camera-work, talking and shots of people puffing, panting, jogging and made me feel very tired at the end of it. Bring back Bob and his laid-back style!
i remember a few years ago on the boards there was a 'bring back bob' campaign as he had been ousted in the fevered days of 'decking' and no bras when style over substance became the new tv religion.
The style is in the plants, surely? I have some ferns planted in an old washing up bowl, primulas in a bucket with a hole, potatoes in an old kitchen bin, etc...
I always thought he was dropped from GW because AT didn't want a rash of tyres at Barleywood.
It would be good to have the occasional guest spot from him now though as I believe he's very good at useful stuff like companion planting for maximising crops and minimising pests and diseases.

I too have respect for Bob Flowerdew ,his book on organic gardening is great ,honest photography- bicycle tyre inner tubes used as plant supports
arent to everyones tastes but he's thrifty and I find his advice is pretty sound -the chapter on pests in his OG book is very humorous particularly when discussing badgers .Ahead of his time?possibly considered too eccentric which is our loss I'd love to see more of him on tv, much more to offer than many........
Agree it would be great to have Bob Flowerdew on GW programme again. I remember the last time he appeared in which he suggested peeing on the compost heap after a night on the cider ....... and he was never, ever, seen on it again.
Guess it was just too much for some poor folk

Yes, Bob F gets my vote. Knowledgeable and a good personality.
Bob Flowerdew is one of the best gardeners in the country. I always enjoy listening to him on GQT and have read a couple of his books.
I like his easy going approach, the fact he has considerable gardening knowledge, and any man who can carry off a pony tail and not look daft as a brush gets my vote!
I have one of Bob Flowerdew's books, 'the Gourmet Gardener', which is brilliant.Everything you need from garden to kitchen! Yes, let's see him on TV.
