The beeb took the snooker off(!)to show POV which is how I caught it for once.
I was only half listening, did anyone catch it all?
I did hear Toby say that Greenacres had "more energy" than Berryfields which makes no sense to me. What on earth does he mean?
Anyone see who the bloke was who was answering the criticisms?
Hi Toonia -
I nearly fell off the sofa when they said Greenacres had "more energy" than Berryfield - I assume they relate energy to rushing around half doing things to the beat of an egg timer. The bloke who was answering the criticisms was Andy Vernon, the show's new producer - seeing and hearing him explained a lot about why GW has gone where it has gone.

Oh no.. I missed it and it appears it isn't on catchup. Anyone remember how else Andy Vernon justified it?
I'm paraphrasing as I was wondering where the cue ball was going at the time...
AV said that it was traditional for GW to start a new garden when they had a new presenter and Greenacres would give TB the opportunity to express himself...
You can make the rest up for yourself!

I've honestly no idea why, if they wanted to attract a lot of young viewers, they didn't employ Brian Harvey as head gardener.
It's just been pointed out to me that I put POW in my heading instead of POV.
Must be some subliminal influence about people associating gardening with war all the time.
I recorded PoV just in case there were any comments about GW this week. I was (guess where?) in the garden when it was airing.
There were 3 viewers comments aired - One on the cost, one asking why they hadn't gone the full recycling route, and the third 'throw away' comment at the end of the piece was a quote from one of our very own "messageboarders" (tho' it didn't specify whether it was the PoV or Gardening Board):
"I watched it and enjoyed it. I like the new style and the presenter. I think it will be an informative show and we can learn new tricks."
I've had a quick look back at this person's posts on both boards and their comments appear to be completely opposite to the above (although admittedly I was going backwards so maybe they've changed their minds as the weeks have passed ).
And of all the comments on the boards they had to pick that one and not even balance it out with a negative comment (after all, they have plenty to choose from )

Thank you joanybird.
I caught that too... and was very puzzled as I don't remember this poster praising the new GW either.
Drat - missed POV, but I haven't missed the fact that Buckland's blog is no longer visible via the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú's main 'Gardening' page. Wonder why? Perhaps he is updating it (heaven help us!) or perhaps someone at the BEEB has cottoned on to message 20 (and in case the BEEB actually reads these boards, you didn't need to have the flair of a hound to smell that particular rat).
Whilst I've already written that the last prog was day to previously aired dark nights, the problem with the programme's lead presenter has not improved one iota and, IMHO, the sooner the better he goes on to pastures new.
