Gardeners' World Friday 8th May.
Joe is reporting from the Malvern Show (good!)
but...
"Alys Fowler meets fashion students who have created outfits for the team"
...I'm not making it up, honest!

Ha ha! We must all have got our RTs today.
Actually I think that the fashion item is today with a Fashion parade at the Malvern Show with items made by students presumably along a horticultural theme. It may be very nearly as good as America's Next Top Model!!
Also interesting in the RT was the letters page with not one but TWO letters in support of Toby Buckland. Presumably his entire fan club rose up in protest to produce them. One says they are fed up with the Carol Klein fan club and the other says "Toby Buckland is not the next Geoff Hamilton, he is the first Toby Buckland"! I think someone has done a philosophy degree there!
So there we have it - it could be fan club wars.
Lets try and keep Chris Beardshaw's out of it - these people are bigger than us.

Oops when I said "fashion item is today with" I obviously meant "fashion item is TO DO with". Apologies to anyone not fast enough on the uptake to have got that one.
Ah, it wasn't clear that Alys would be at Malvern too.
I wonder if it will be street wear or gardening wear. The mind really broggles!
Did the students grow their own cotton? Spin their own silk? I'm struggling for a connection with gardening here.
Message to the GW team — we know you find gardening a complete bore and would much rather be working on some other programme, so why not hand the show over to someone who DOES care about gardening.
Perhaps the garments are made out of cannabis plants grown hydroponically in the student halls of residence. Cannabis makes excellent textile fibre.

I think you are all being very cynical. I think this is a very pretty dress inspired by an onion - I'm assuming it is from the same students
I'm thinking GW... I'm thinking bananas..
Words fail me. There was I thinking it might be some practical but attractive stuff to wear while gardening. But this is year zero in Gardeners' World la-la-land. Oh well.

Now you never know... it may be that the design students come up with an entirely practical yet asethetically pleasing item of clothing that when we see it, we think "Yes! I need one of those!"
You never know - let's not pre-judge.
Whats it going to be the week after? Gok does GW? Strictly come Gardening with Toby and Alys doing a foxtrot around the raised beds?
LLx
wafflycat: No it'll be the puffball skirt made out of flowers in the telegraph link. We are not talking reasonableness or sanity here, it's year zero in GW la-la-world.
But where are the clowns? There ought to be clowns...
