Wandering around Chelsea on Tuesday my husband wondered what happened to some of the previous years show gardens. For instance I heard it rumoured that Mary Reynolds fabulous 2002 show garden was bought by Piers Brosnan and obviously other gardens, designed for charities for instance, have been reconstructed elswhere.
This would make a really interesting TV programme seeing how the gardens had fared, whether they were built too last or just became decrepit ruins etc.
It would also be a chance to see how the trends changed over the years.
Now that producer Rosemary Edwards has redeemed herself with this years Chelsea coverage perhaps she could take on this project?
I'd watch that programme!
Well I know that the Cleve West Saga garden which he entered in 2006 ended up at Saga's headquarters in Folkestone. I was working there as a temp at the time, and spent many a lunch break admiring it. As far as I know, it's still there.
I wanted the AGS garden from a few years ago or at least a plan of it so I could build my own copy. No one seemed to have a plan of it.
If anyone has any pictures can they please post them on photobucket
It was the one with the waterfall over big rocks and a lot of rhodohypoxis.
Only saw one photo but it really took my eye
