Now that the What’s hot and what’s not feature seems to have disappeared from the Gardeners’ world programme (well done chaps!).
I was thinking that this slot could be replaced by short snippets of some of the best programmes from the previous gardens such as Berryfield, etc…
I have just written a little article about this idea of bringing back the old time favourites on my garden diary website:
Do people think that this is a good idea?

It's a nice idea to fit in, but I like to see a 'what to do now' spot at the end of each show. It's Friday and lots of people garden at the weekends, so it's the perfect opportunity to give tips.

I agree with Trillum an "if you do anything make sure its ....." moment, pratical hints and tips about what to plant where and when.

Definitely, all gardeners, whatever their skill/experience level like a gentle reminder of what they should be doing right now.

Why don't they include a mini version of the GW magazines "what to be doing this week" section. I know there is the weather "spread" across the country of 2-3 weeks but even sow Toby could provide pertinent reminders of "second sowing of lettuce" "mist your runner beans to encourage flower set" etc etc. Follow the BG lead you can squeeze a lot into five minutes if you cut out the back and fore banter and get on with the gardening.

Reminders of 'time to take your cuttings from geraniums etc' never come amiss. I always plan to do it but then forget.

In the Monty era, didn't they used to have a couple of minutes at the end of programs, of things to do this weekend. Not presented by anyone, but just captions on the screen, and some concise voiceover.
Things you really NEED to do immediately, perhaps taking the viewer half-an-hour or so to complete, would be far more useful than the 30-minute fix, of stuff that many viewers would never ever want to do.

I would rather have Trillium's what to do now, than segments from previous programmes. As much as some of us don't like the new style, seeing snippets from previous programmes, will just get us even more upset. Let's just sort out the programme we have, which I am sure the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú will do, eventually. The last programme was much better, wasn't it?
I've mentioned this before, but I've got a very slight memory problem, due to an overdose (not self inflicted, might I say) of some antidepressants many years ago, so a what to do now segment really helps me. The trouble with the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, is they expect us all to be getting the GW magazine or scanning the web site, for the 'what to do now' stuff. The email I get from them helps, but it should still be on the program, like I think it always has done, though I might be wrong there!

Ok, so it looks like the general consensus is to make sure that GW includes a reminder of what to do now and any useful tips for example about which cuttings to do when.
I think that this makes sense for a programme like Gardeners'world.
