I certainly haven't!
I was even thinking today (being Friday) that this Wimbledon fortnight would have been an ideal opportunity to consign it to the skip for good.
I certainly haven't! Â
Nor have I David, though I confess that I would still dearly welcome a half-decent gardening programme for adults on a friday night - but not with the current cringe-worthy lot presenting. I hadn't even appreciated that it wasn't on during Wimbledon, which just shows how things can change so quickly.
Hi, Ken. To be honest, it was probably my inner clock reminding that this is the time I would normally put aside to watch GW. Then I thought, well, I don't really give a damn.
I haven't missed it as I enjoy watching matches. I hope when it starts, they make some much needed changes that everyone talks about on this board.
I haven't seen it for weeks and I've not missed it in the slightest.
I'd forgotten that it should have even been on tonight.
So when is that Matthew Wilson show starting on C4?
Not a bit, can't honestly say I've learned anything from GW in the last couple of years.
Nope.
My garden's having such a fantastic and productive year and is in such good shape (thanks to Monty's advice of a few years ago and a proper cold winter which has killed most of the pests) that I'd rather spend my time in the real thing from dawn to dusk, not watch that depressing Greenacres with its even more depressing presenters.
Surprisingly, I didn't miss it, but don't understand why we have to lose a gardening programme to tennis anyway. Like I said on another thread, I thought the last one was better, so hope maybe with the enforced break, they will have had more ideas as to how to improve it more!
I've 'stopped learning' as well, but in my view, it's a gardening programme and there are not many around atm, especially now that UKTV Gardens is off air now.
Why - when there is now Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú1, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú2, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 and Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4 for anyone who has gone 'digital' - can they not just move the tennis and leave the gardening where it should be?
Even if I don't learn much, it is still preferable to some of the other dross that is on!

well just to add my two pennies worth to this discussion... Im a complete novice and this is the first year ive ever grown anything !! But needless to say ive been bitten by the bug well and truly ! And as a newbie i try and read as many books and magazines as possible and have been avidly watching GW as every single little hint and tip is like gold dust to me ! BUT ! im sorry to say although ive learned some useful things and been given some good ideas from GW , I WANT MORE... they hardly cover any of the basics ? i want to learn how best to prune my roses? whats the best feed for this or that ? how to keep pests away ? etc etc... I dont need to learn how to lay a block paved path ! or how to erect a fence ! what happened to GW being about gardening? but needless to say i shall continue to watch because as i said being a total amateur just that odd 1 or 2 tips i get from an hours programme just might help?

Yes, I have. But then, I've missed any gardening on TV now that UKTV Gardens is no longer available. Anything gardening related on TV would be very welcome right now, particularly at this time of year. I couldn't even find The Beechgrove Garden on iPlayer. Roll on Friday evening I say!
I thought that UKTV Gardens was all repeats of ages old shows anyway - am I misinformed?
Why don't Channel 4 do gardening any more - they used to do some quite good stuff!
UKTV Gardens showed old GW episodes with all the old presenters at 10pm every night and for a while they also showed Alan Tichmarsh's 'How to be a Gardener'at 10.30. I have only started watching such programmes (and actually gardening) in the last two years so it was fantastic having a range of different styles on different nights, every night. And now there's been not a drop for weeks, however good or bad.

I absolutely agree. I have been gardening for over 30 years when dear old Percy Thrower was presenter! Gardening then was very much considered an old man's game and as a young(ish)lady with an allottment growing all my family's veg I was looked on as some kind of novelty (at its kindest).
Now we have an absolute explosion of interest in gardening and yet the media appear to be missing a trick. I loved watching old episodes of the Victorian Kitchen Garden for example and Geoff Hamilton's Cottage Garden series on UK Gardening but even this has disappeared. Come on you tv planners - ask the viewers what they want to watch before removing favourite programmes.

they did ask people, what they wanted to watch! People want watch sport, which turn out to be Wimbledon.
Since, no channel including the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú knows how to do a garden program correctly. GW is best left on sabbatical. Goodbye GW we don't miss you.
Haven't missed GW one bit. Find I'm happier with CK's 'Grow your own Veg', and other relevant books + a good CD on the record player, when I can't get outside.
Like the majority I haven't missed it at all. I stopped watching anyway after the latest crew took over.
Gardening is a multi-million pound (maybe billion?) industry in the UK yet the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú cannot seem to recognise this, and seem to think that the one size fits all route is the only option. Well it isn't no more than you would expect to find primary and secondary school children in the same class.
I have been actively gardening now for 36 years so I do know how to garden and find programmes concentrating on basic techniques very tedious. Equally I recognise that those new to gardening welcome and probably need such shows.
So why not have two programmes, or better still one show that does suit all categories of gardener? I suggest that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Execs sit through some re-runs of Geoff Hamilton's shows if they need any tips. In those days GW was unmissable.

This posting has been hidden during moderation because it broke the in some way.
Not at all. GW's behaved like a bad boyfriend who patronises you and goes AWOL every now and again, and I've chucked him in.

Dearest Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, try reading what YOU publish on your own Gardeners' World Blog, before your employees get their underwear in the twist.
The comment about the incompetence of JS was taken from there.
Even comic writers would fail to come up with such nonsense.
Re: hidden message
I forgot to give the original link; however, those who could be interested in reading it and laughing for the truth it told, would no longer be able to do so, as the Scared Police have removed it. They have, of course, left the sort of supportive comment, sent in response.
Needless to say that it makes no sense at all, as those fearful people have removed the original "rant".
I often wonder if these people imagine that because we are FORCED to pay their salaries, we should be also forced to LIKE what they dish out at our expense.
