I've just thought of this unique idea the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú could introduce. Make a gardening programme, put it on say Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú2 at a regular time, for example 8pm on a Friday night. If anything else comes along say, golf, cricket or something more interesting like watching paint dry, they could show that on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 or Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4. What do you think?

With regards to the one programme they show sporadically through the year - because we're swamped with gardening programmes across networks, there's oh................ well I'm sure there's loads I miss! Anyway I think Gardeners World has improved immensely over the few short weeks it's re-emerged. Just a pity that I arrange my Friday nights around watching it... and then it's not on AGAIN!

there is more than enough space to show gw- regardless of the current sporting (ahem) programming. there is no gw simply because there is no gw.

If they show GW on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 or Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4, what will happen to the progs that were to be shown on those two channels? I regularly watch them. Its not that easy you know.

Sounds pretty easy to me. Most of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú 3 shows are re-runs anyway. I'm not suggesting they show GW on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 or 4, I'm suggesting they move the sport there, and keep the GW slot for GW. I also watch other programmes but I've seen the Dr Whos, Starsky and Hutch, Family Guy several times over. There's 1 serious gardening programme on TV (whether or not you like the new series). All I'm asking is that they pick on another show - one of the many repeats maybe - every time there's a sport programme.

I disagree. Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 and Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4 show new progs regulary, some are repeated on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú2 later on. At present, they show a series of progs under the banner of 'Grey Expectations' I enjoy watching progs based on 60+ years. 'Getting on' is a gem of 3 part sitcom. Grandparents' Diary is interesting too. If you check the programmes on these two channels everyday, you will notice new progs, although they are repeated thru the week. Sorry but I for one would not like it if GW replaces a prog on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3.

Totally agree and to make it even more illogical is to put a Gardening programme on in the Spring when people are thinking about and planting and preparing their gardens and EVEN in the Wintertime to cover garden projects for the next year. Oh how demanding and innovative that would be.smiley - dohsmiley - erm

you are aware that GW has a new producer this season. Which explains this seasons change in tone like it or hate it.

The point I was making was not to slate the new GW format, which I think is quite good together with Toby as lead and Alys in support, but to suggest that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú flagship gardening programme should be more in tune with gardeners needs and the seasons rather than schedules and production matters. we live in hope. smiley - ok
