Dear, oh dear. GQW on 24th July plumbed new depths of trivia, banality and prattle.
Robson has obviously been told that the 'demographic reach' need to be improved, so he's reaching out to halfwits whose attention span is no more than 30 seconds.
Another of the dwindling number of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú programmes that should inform now only seeks only to entertain.
Still it's all a larf, innit!
GQT has been on the slide for a long time.
I don't care for Mr Robson, but at least they seem to have stopped him swearing.
BTW, that crocosmia question on today's GQT confused me. IIRC the questioner said she'd dug them up and asked if she had to separate the corms(?) before replanting and if so, whether to plant them all or select either the biggest or smallest. After telling her 'not to do it now' - hard luck, madam!- I thought John Cushnie said 'plant the big ones and the small ones and throw the rest away'
Guess I'll just have to LA!
I have been a regular listener for quite some time and thought it was just me who didnt care for Mr Robson i much prefer it when Peter Gibbs is in the chair.Eric just seems to trying to get a laugh out of as many quips he can make and always comes accross as somewhat brusque.with Peter he sounds more friendly this is of course is just IMHO
I don't know about GQT but lots of the local radio stations have good gardening programmes. Radio Shropshire have an hour of gardening at noon on Sunday with the lovely Alan Wilding and Martin Ford, todays guest was Margaret Thrower, daughter of our very own Percy!! it is always informative, never patronising, a lovely relaxing hour while getting the dinner ready. They visit local garden societies, flower clubs, all the big shows and fetes in the area to record question times or sometimes it is a phone in. Hereford and Worcester also have a sinilar thing, think it is on a Saturday - all these are available either to listen live or listen again. Brilliant!!
Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Sussex & Surrey Radio has THREE HOURS of gardening on Sunday mornings 9-12!!!

P.S.
If you want to sample a prog (they are on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú iPlayer) this is last Sunday's prog - which you can have playing in the background if you open a new browser window.

Gardeners Question Time is now available as a podcast, I've just had 45 mins downloaded to my Ipod. Will listen this weekend.
