I have long suspected from their almost total avoidance of cacti and succulents that Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú gardening presenters deliberately discriminate against them. My suspicion was confirmed when the award for the Best Floral Display at Tatton Park went to Southfield Nursery for its display of cacti and succulents, but it was not mentioned at all. This is inexcusable.
C&S are very large group, they are interesting, popular, beautiful and easy to grow, so why are they shunned by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú?

i have had cacti for over 20 years... but to be honest they do not fill me with passion... although you do have a valid point.

I think it's a shame there isn't a specialist section on GW - spotlighting different things like, say, cacti and succulents, each week. They could show enthusiasts and their plants, give details of specialist nurersies and clubs etc.
BTW, does anyone remember a documentary years ago about keen plantspeople which ended with an hilarious stop-frame (super eight?) clip of dancing cacti? They may or may not have been knitted (!), but it was very funny, for all that.

I agree with the OP, as a committed agavista I would like to see more attention paid to this fascinating group of plants. My Aloe vera is in flower at present.

The dispaly you mentioned at Tatton was wonderful.
I spent a good while admiring it.
