could anybody remember the 3 perennial geraniums that Carol recommended recently. One self seeded easily and one repeat flowered after pruning. Silly me wrote the names down on the newspaper and tidy me put the paper in the blue bin only for the dustbin man to take it away to the recycle plant !!
Hope you fellow gardeners can help this new member
There were 4 she mentioned-
G.Nodosum- does repeat flower & good Autumn colour. In my garden can be a bit of a 'thug' popping up all over the place, but i love it.
G.Pratense- the meadow cranesbill.
G.Rozanne- has a long season.
G.Psilostemon- another long season one.
Hope that helps. J.
Well remembered Jo. Sorry I missed you at Tatton - it was a bit of a manic moment.
Two other good continual flowerers are Jolly Bee - which I'm told is hard to tell from Rozanne - and Russell Pritchard, which is low growing and deep pink.
I really like G. himalayense 'Gravetye'. It spreads nicely, has beautiful blue/purple veined flowers, makes great ground cover , has lovely pinkish fresh shoots and repeat flowers if cut back.
Not remembered Trillium, I always tape GW as famous for falling asleep during it (worse when Monty) & often fall asleep at the same time when playing back!! So I went & played back a recording & made a note!
Loved the garden at Tatton- may get down to see you sooner than Boarders day out as am planning big (!) extension of border space- out of lawn- if the rain ever stops & if my back holds out with turf removal OH did say he'd help, but am not holding my breath. J.
