Broadcaster John Cushnie, a regular panellist on Gardeners' Question Time, has died ..... so sad to hear of this announcement who contributed so much to GQT both with humour and expertise-a sad loss and sincere sympathy to his family.

I'm sure many others will miss him, too, welshcol, as you and I obviously will. Maggie

Me too, Sundays will not be the same again. There have been lots of lovely tributes for him. J.

I loved his warm, harmless humour on GQT, he somehow represented what was so delightful about gardeners.

He certainly always brought a smile to the face, when listening to him on GQT. He will be sorely missed

Just a "trowels-up" to let you know, there is a GQT tribute to JC on radio 4 at 3:00 pm on Friday 15th January. .....and repeated Sunday 17th at 2pm. Also brief but thoughtful tribute to John by Eric Robinson in the RT as well. For information.

Listened to the tribute and one of the things they said was so true - there are plenty of people out there who could answer the GQT questions, but not with with his wonderful humour.
He was a bit of a one-off and I feel very much influenced the style of the programme, keeping it in within that quiet, witty place which nonetheless imparts knowledge, that Radio 4 can do so well if it so chooses.
