I went off Gardeners' World when it was an hour long and featured too much of the general public. What a delight it has been to re-tune to the half-hourly programmes that concentrate purely on "proper gardening" with help and ideas from true professionals and enthusiasts. Stick to this format Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú and you will attract many of your former gardening viewers! I think Toby and his colleagues are excellent presenters who seem to be having a bit of fun as well as creating a wonderful garden.

I agree with you Christine on that point, too many people and not enough garden, thought the tips about shaking compost over seeds out of a little pot were brill, never thought to do that doh, also how to prune Roses and Carol with her advice on the family names for plants, roll on next episode.

I love it as well Christine, a real gardener's programme now. I would still love an hour of it though.
Hi Rain, a little tip about shaking the compost out of a pot to sprinkle over seeds is if the compost comes out too fast then just use two pots, unalign the holes a little and you'll find a finer sprinkling.

A well known seed/plant Company (not sure if it's OK to mention them by name) now recommends using Vermiculite, instead of covering seeds with compost. They say it prevents 'damping Off'. I have used this for the past couple of years, and would defintely recommend it.

Not sure if it's OK to quote from one of my own messages - but - Toby used Vermiculite on Friday's prog, mentioning other reasons for using this, instead of covering seeds with soil.

Must admit I did that on Sunday when I set the seeds away, will watch with great interest to see if they germinate any quicker/better, and it's not as messy.
