Makes you wonder which muppet that works for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú decides to show snooker instead of Gardeners World. Are they getting a bung from the promoter?
Why can’t the snooker be show on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 or Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4 or even show GW on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 or Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4?
Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú3 - E20 could count the viewers on my left foot (just noticed that it rhymes)- Eastbenders
Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4 - Young Musician of the year - watched by their gran and their music teacher
    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Snooker just goes on - and on - and on - and . . .

Why half an hour couldn't be given up (not a lot would happen in thirty minutes, anyway) to show GW I really don't know.

P'raps it's cheap telly. The cameraman doesn't have to do much. The commentators can just talk balls of various colours. And chaps in waistcoats (I wonder why they wear those???) chalk their cues almost as a reflex action while they look seriously at - a green table.

Oh, well - it's a Bank Holiday weekend. Off to Q & B to get some paint. Then I can sit and be more entertained whilst I watch it dry smiley - laugh

We were going to watch it on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú HD tonight as advertised in The Radio Times but we've got Jeremy Paxman interviewing Gordon Brown instead!

You're right, Rowan - their grass couldn't look as good as that!

But that set me thinking: Once they finally go to bed (the snookerers, that is) wouldn't it be fun to send in some guerilla gardeners?

The baize could be "mown" ie shaved to have impressive stripes. A few pot plants in the pockets and - Bob's your Uncle! An indoor garden! smiley - winkeye

Its a pity you have missed the closing date for Chelski, what a cracking idea for a display garden.

Makes me wonder what you could call the players
Toby 'The Jug' Buckland, a little gnome with a cue instead of a rod comes to mind.

Sad thing is I play snooker but cannot watch it

Was so looking forward to GW on Friday after a hard week of work & needing the Friday night ritual of unwinding with a glass of wine whilst being inspired to get out into my garden at the weekend. smiley - sadface

I don't think it would be too much trouble for the Beeb to make an episode available on I-player or at least have an enhanced selection of previous features available for us to make our own mix and match special edition of GW to enjoy as recompense for the inconvenience!
I'd have to have yet another watch of the rebirth of Jeseme Cottage Garden from (I think) last year.
    What would your choice be?

Anything by Geoff Hamilton. Anything by Alan Titchmarsh.

Anything other than last year's offerings.

Anything at all, even Ground Force (at a push). Wish UK Gardens was still on, didn't realise how spoilt we were until that ended.
