GQT Summer Party

  Hi all
  
  Join Bob Flowerdew, Anne Swithinbank, Chris Beardshaw, Matthew Biggs, Pippa Greenwood, Bunny Guinness, Matthew Wilson and Christine Walkden for a day of demonstrations, plant clinics and of course, gardening Q&A sessions.
  
  The event is taking place on:
  
  Saturday 2nd July 2011 from 10am-4pm
  
  Sparsholt College, Westley Lane, Sparsholt, Winchester, SO21 2NF

  A long way to go, unfortunately.
  
  I'm surprised how little discussion of GQT there is on this board. I feel that it's improved over the last couple of years - more businesslike and less forced jollity, dreadful puns and not-very-funny jokes.
  
  What does anyone else think?

  Just got back-saw a recording with Pippa Greenwood,Bob Flowerdew and Bunny Guiness- who my wife thinks is nuts-Peter Gibbs was in the chair-all quite interesting- I had a question but didn't get picked ( thank goodness)-didn't get too see Chris, Anne,Matthew, or Christine- they were there but doing other things on the site and as there wasn't much else to do came away before the second recording which they were probably going to do.
  Not bad for half-day out- £10- bought a plant as well- a bit of petrol- but probably would not return.

  I've recently been on a long holiday touring British Columbia and Alberta in Canada. While I relished the experience and many things about Canada I quickly came to realise what rubbish their TV and radio is. On a ferry crossing on the inside passage between Vancouver Island and Vancouver I sat myself down next to a window in a surprisingly comfortable leather seat (for a ferry) and listened to a GQT podcast that I'd been saving for just such a quiet time. It was a letters only edition. The quiet knowledgeable tones of the panel drifted into my headphones while I gazed at the stunning scenery drifting by. How distant England seemed to be and yet those comforting tones from Radio 4 that as yet I haven't managed to find replicated anywhere else in the world brought calming thoughts of the English landscape, its gardens and all that I love. Wonderful.
