Hello I hope someone here might advise me please.
We are just venturing into vegetable growing, tentatively and on a very small scale, so I sent away for Dr Hessayon's book "The New Vegetable and Herb Expert". A book has just arrived but it is "The Vegetable and Herb Expert", not "The Vegetable etc"
Does anyone know if there is a great deal of difference in these two books, and is it worth contacting the seller?
Thankyou very much for all advice.
I don't think there's much difference between the books and plants can't read anyway. However if you bought a book advertised as 'The New Veg...' then that's what you should receive.
I think you might be confused with a new edition of the old book. Its been updated but basically it still tells you how to grow. There may be a few additions of new veg now being grown but if you feel you should have got the new edition then return it.
Thankyou both for your input. I think I'll just keep what I've got.
Have a look at the inside cover it will tell you when the book was reprinted, mines 2008.
The only thing that would concern me would be if some old methods of weed or pest control that are not advised now were mentioned. If the date is recent that should not be the case, but I agree with Oldends that you should get what you ordered.

Inside the cover shows just 1997 and 2009, but no mention of an updated version. Thanks for all advice but I think this will do very well.
That sounds new enough.
