Hi
I have heard similar stories, I'm sure. I don't know the answer, I'm affraid.
Try this link & ask if nobody knows here.
Hi
Found this to look at.
Hope they help.
It`s not a feed but you can make (illegally)an insecticide by boiling the leaves and mixing with a little soft soap/washing up liquid.
Not to be confused with comfrey liquid which does provide a (smelly) feed
Comfrey leaves can de soaked in water until very smelly then diluted 10-1 as a feed for veg. Rhubarb leaves are poisonous and contain oxalic acid. These can be soaked and use as an insecticide diluted. I did read that you can chop up rhubarb leaves and plant them under brassicas to give protection. I have never tried that myself.
You can use mare's tail water in the same way. Cheers, Tony.

Back in 1977 when I got my first half plot it had club root and I put a chunk of rhubarb in the planting hole.
Did it work?-maybe a little but I was young and eager then and if nothing else it made me feel good. There were some pretty potent chemicals around back then and I didn`t want to use them.
Hi Paul
i did this last year and had no problems with the brassicas,i used it while the cabbage white was rampant,i would say i had 50% less caterpilers than my neighbours,i do beleive they do not like the smell and i dont blame them...!!
Hi all, thanks for your replies will give it a go and see, will keep you all updated here when II get some results and will keep chrcking here to see any other responses I may get.
Thanks again.
Paul.
