can someone please help me,my peas have come thru but some are now dying off i cannot see any problems with them they just seem to wither and die,any help would be very much apprieciated as this is my 1st year trying to grow my own vegetables and i love trying to grow them. thank you
In these hot temperatures have you watered them??
and is it the whole plant or just the first leaves to show?.
Mine look awful but it`s just the top growth-there are signs of fresh new growth.
Late frost and then a couple of scorching days not to mention a drought-would you grow under those conditions???
I always grow mine in cell trays then plant them out once they are a decent size. That seems to cure these problems. Mine are now 30cm high and i put more peas in the ground between them so you get a second crop. I used to plant into the bare ground but they were eaten by mice and slugs. You could still sow some now they shoot pretty quickly.
ty for the info i will put some in the trays as you suggest and put them in the greenhouse and make sure they are watered daily
Agree with LPM. I sowed mine in drainpipe at home this year and planted them out just over a week ago. I usually struggle when I direct sow but this method has been brill !
