I am planting out my squashes and corgettes tomorrow, does anything know if the plants will CLIMB if encouraged!! The reason being is that I'm running out of ground space.
Yes you can train them up eg a fence. They will become quite large and heavy so good support is needed, especially if it is a largish type of fruit like a butternut. But these you can support with say
old onion or fruit nets. The tendrils on squashes help keep them on but are not usually enough to keep plants on. cut pantyhose or other types of soft material to tie them in best. Good Luck!
