I think one of my courgette plants has a damaged stem and just isn't growing. Is it too late now to start off more seeds?
go for it - everything is late this year. What will you lose by trying? If we get a good late summer you might be picking courgettes almost into winter!!
It`s not too late at all.
I hope it isn't as I discovered my courgette plants looking very sorry for themselves last night, I'm not sure whether it was just the shock of transplanting them out or whether the local fat cat is the guilty party (they were laid flat on the soil and there were paw prints in the patch) but i've sown some more inside as a back up in case these don't recover. With a bit of luck the sunshine will perk them up and the pointy sticks I've now put in the soil will put the cats off using them as a toilet!
Too late for courgettes? No way! With this warm spell they'll grow quickly. Sow a couple of seeds in each place where you want them, water and stand back. When they emerge, pull out the weakest one.
