i seeded sweetcorn yesterday. i know its a bit late in the year to do it. was it a waste of time doing it? do i need sticks for it?
thanks again
A waste of time? Why that? I assume you enjoyed your time seeding. Then again, I don't think it still is too late.
Sticks are hardly ever necessary for sweetcorns, which are strong enough to do without.
When you say you seeded sweetcorn yesterday do you mean you sowed the seeds.
Sweetcorn needs a long growing season and sowing seeds now is probably too late to produce a crop.
I'm planting my sweetcorn out this week, alot later than most on these message boards, I'm hoping for a crop but if I get one you'll need to pick me up from the compost heap
there is plenty of time for sweetcorn yet and I always sow a successsion to keep it coming
i think you may be a bit late for sweetcorn from seed, but goodluck,as they say in america, sweetcorn should be knee high on the 4th of july.
I think you are mixing up corn (maize ) and sweetcorn wehich I know is the same thing but are grown for very distinct different end uses. There is plenty of time to plant sweetcorn
That's good because only 6 of mine came up and i thought you need at least 9 to plant in a block
Can i plant more seeds and will they catch up with the others? Also, does it matter if they are a different variety?
