Hi, does anyone have experience of whether using straw around your strawberries keeps the slugs away.
I have a patch of 40 plants planted through weed membrane and use organic pellets scattered on the membrane but I still get a problem with slug attacks.

No but straw berries are named as they are, because it is just about the best "bed" for the berries to grow on.
And thinking about slugs, the dryness of the straw might discourage them so.... Yes!
If you can get a little straw from the pet shop or similar then do so.
