I've only just planted out my sweet corn, it was ready weeks ago but for different reasons they didn't go out till this weekend.
I've planted two varieties 3 by 4 for each, one about a foot tall the other about 8'. Dug trenches for them, allowing the soil to fall into the trenches when watered to give a good root base.
The bottom leaves are yellow though, I think this is due to over watering they were grow on in toilet rolls. Will they recover, I'm hoping so, is there anything I can do to help them along, like feeding or should I just leave them now to grow.
Mine are the same. I'm not worried, I'm guessing that this week's warmer and dryer weather should help them on a bit.
Only feed when the cobs are forming
Just leave them, most plants show a bit of shock when just planted out and if it`s only the lower leaves then nothing to worry about
Thanks for your replies, they're reasuring. I'll just leave it alone, then.
