Hi! This is only my 2nd year of gardening (last year was a total flop - my potatoes and tomatoes got blight and everything else was eaten by the slugs!) There is a chance I may have planted too much!! I've got carrots, leeks, spring onions garlic and a courgette in the very small veg patch and lots of other things spilling out of pots (squash, aubergine, peppers, salads, tomatoes, chard, spinach - the list goes on!) ...I don't think I thought it through as now everything has gotten too big for the pots. My garden is quite small - does anyone have any tips on space saving? I assume my crops will suffer if my plants get root bound? Any help will be appreciated! :o)
PS - really happy my Cornflowers and Love in the Mist have germinated, hopefully the slugs won't get those!

My garden is tiny too car washing buckets from the supermarket are great for growing toms, salad, carrots etc in!
If you've got lots of wall space troughs and hanging baskets are great too - dont make the mistake i did last year and put cordon toms in them instead of the tumbling ones.
I've found veg growing is trial and error what doesn't work this year don't do next year!!

My spuds don't look to be doing as well this year, the foilage in two bags have toppled over.

To combat slugs you could try putting bird stations in the garden, pellets are good and then there are the other alternatives like beer trays.

I was advised last year to plant a little of a lot of different types of veg which you like to eat, see what grows best and concentrate on them the following year. Planting closer together in a small plot or pots mean you can take out the young plants to eat, thinning the line or pot out to give the plants left in room to mature so you get a continual harvest.
