Hi,Samantha's partner here. Its normally this time of year to start to dig up early spuds.Normally the haulm(stem)is starting to flower and then the haulm will die down. This seems to be happening to you, which is quite normal.I've already dug up my spuds(first earlys)and had good results! If not sure dig up a root just to check and leave the others. But like i said they should be ready.I normally dig up first earlies when the flower starts to open.Another tip while i'm here is to pinch out the flower tips so more energy will go into the spuds rather than the flowers. Thanks Dave.
