Yellow Potato Leaves

  The leaves on some of my potato plants are starting to go yellow and blotchy. Is this blight (bit early isn't it?) or are they just ready to dig up? A lot of the plants are flowering but not all. They have been watered regularly and fed.
  
  Think I will dig one up today and have a look.

  Are they first earlies\seconds or maincrop?
  
  If first earlies I would guess they're ready to be eaten. All my first earlies have died down back now - not all potatoes flower either.
  
  If they're maincrop they should still be looking pretty green.
  
  Have a ferret about in the ground and check the size out. I doubt it's blight this early - it's been warm enough but not damp enough (yet...)

  I'm glad you posted this, I just noticed the same on my spuds at lunchtime and came on here to ask the same question! I was panicking in case it was blight. It's my second earlies that are affected though but I'll check under the soil and see what I've got.

  Thanks for your replies. Dug a couple up today and they seem to be ready - some are huge for new potatoes! - but expected more per plant. I did plant them a bit later than some people - 11 weeks ago this weekend.
