hi all, have a wasp nest in compost box,it will have to disturbed, when is the best time to do it .thank you.
Whenever someone else is free to do it!
Do you really have to disturb it?-if so do it late in the evening and be careful.
I had one in a bin a couple of years back but is was still maturing so I didn`t have to disturb the wasps. They had gone/died by the time I wanted the compost
You can get a bloke from the Council to do it but they often make a charge.
But they are trained and have the right protective gear
I think there is one in our manure heap so I am getting it from the other side. It's a council allotment site so would there still be a charge?
Hi.
B and Q sell a foam spray called wasp nest destroyer for around £3.00
I just got rid of one in the loft.

hi over the wasp nest i can wait till the winter time ,if this is the best time. regards george
Please try not to kill wasps. They are the good guys. They feed their young on umpteen grubs, caterpillars, aphids etc. I's only when the summer's coming to and end that they get naughty and you can trap them then in a jam jar, with a bit of jam and water in covered with a lid with a hole in it, if you feel you must. They go in and can't get out.
