Too late for this year but just wondered if someone can suggest a good outdoor cucumber.
Are they inclined to be bitter? How do people support them? Will they be ok climbing up a cane teepee? How do they do in a poor summer?
Many thanks

F1 tasty burpless worked well for me and none of the cucumbers were bitter. Some outdoor cucumber varieties are ridge cucumbers and are not meant to climb at all. Last year mine looked like they were going to climb so I put in a few poles and tried to tie them on to them but they then just kind of flopped all over the place. Produced lots of great cucumbers still though.
Thank you for your replies. Will try one next year - its one of the few veg the whole family like! - maybe a climbing one coz I love things that climb.
