I'm very new to gardening and was after some advice please. WE seem to have been over run with clover this year as quick as i pull it up it grows again.
Has any one else had this problem or know how to deal with it?
hi
We have also been overrun with white clover in the lawn, but it will be staying as the bees love it. Also the mower is in the workshop so the clover will be even begger then............
Leave it for the bees. Don't run around with bare feet though!
Lucky you, I'd love to have a clover/daisy lawn, but mine stays frustratingly 'pure'! At least a clover lawn stays nice and green during dry periods.
Clover fixes nitrogen in the soil,so it's good for the grass to feed from, but if left to it's own devices will crowd out the grass eventually.
Don't get me wrong i don't dislike it. But it's growing over my veggies and bedding plants. I've noticed some in the grass the last few weeks but i'm fine with that just not the veggies.
Simple answer! Apply CLOVERTOX, it is a selective lawn weed killer and one treatment should clear the problem.
If not, a second after 4 weeks will clear it all - I had a 50% coverage in my lawn when we moved to our bungalow 6 years ago but within 1 month, all was gone. Loosen the soil with a rate and sow grass seed (and water if not in Cheshire!!??) and all will be well.
