Hi
im growing a couple of cucumber plants and they have reached the top of the canes, please can someone advise me how i stop them from contining to grow, also do the cucumber just fall off the plant once ready to eat? thanks for your help this is my first year working my allotment so all very new to me.
Hi, For outdoor cucumbers pinch out the growing tip and if you are supporting the side shoots just let them grow. If the side shoots are trailing, pinch those out after they have produced 2 or 3 fruits. The cucumbers will not drop off, cut them off when they are 6"-8" long or they will become seedy and bitter.
thank you for the advise, what if the about 6" long but still got bobble its on the skin?
