i have planted maris piper in containers on 26th April and was not expecting to harvest until September, but there are several flowers on the plant and now i am unsure what to do? all advice gratefully received
Wait until the flowers have dropped, then excavate very gently in the soil and see what size the potatoes are. If they are still very small, keep on watering and feeding until they are a better size.
many thanks, i will do just that!
Do potatoes grown in containers need regular feeding just like tomatoes?
I just put in crocks, soil and compost and earthed up as necessary. The sun and rain have taken care of the rest and the growth is looking healthy!
Thank you cyberclayfeet!
I sowed my spuds, including Maris piper, on good friday and while half have already flowered the others are currently in full bloom and foliage looks very healthy. I'm looking at July 30th for harvesting.
