I felt so pleased with myself on Saturday, middle son and grandson visited and I was able to send them home with runner beans, dwarf french beans, lettuces and courgettes from the garden. Nan. x

    Great- nice to read that

I hope they eat it - I love nipping into the garden for lettuce, radish etc.

My beans arn't ready yet but a cucumber is tempting me.

Oh I forgot to say I made some really good beetroot soup on Friday - with my very own beetroot served with creme fresh and froze some for another day. smiley - smiley

    Nan and Miss-polly. Congratulations.

You have both made me determined to grow more veg than my carrots in pots. Herbs have been my thing so far, but your delight in home grown produce makes me want to branch out.

We had a meal the other night and apart from the meat on our plates it was all grown at the allotment. Potatoes, carrots, swede and cabbage. It tasted really good, if I say so myself smiley - smiley
the peas are fattening up nicely and the runner beans are not starting to show (plenty of flowers though!) can't wait!

Thanks for this chance to share my satisfaction! So chuffed with my first carrots (loads more still in ground), especially since our soil isn't exactly loose and stone free! (did double dig it last year though)

Had so many peas this year, probably due to very wet, cool spring.

Everything else doing well, but think I may end up being over-run with pumpkins!
