I've just pulled up two of my garlic, and they are a excellent size. It's been raining hard all day, and most of last week too. I noticed two garlic stalks had completely fallen over, so i pulled them up, and was more than pleasantly suprised. I know some people had expressed their disappointment at their garlic this year, so i'm glad mine have bucked this years trend
my "red" skined garlic did very well but the "white ones didn't so next year it will the red types for me
I'm from Suffolk can I have some of your rain???
The garlic I planted in December and went through all the weather is brill - excellent crop. The spare bulb of cloves I planted up in the spring as insurance gave titchy bulbs. I'll be planting in December again!
Well done Rob. I'm going to grow more in recycling boxes next time as they were easier to keep watered and did better for me. I've pulled all mine now and they are drying off in the conservatory. They are OK but nothing like last year.
Happy Violas, we seem to get different results from our garlic. I find planting garlic in Nov / Dec a waste of time. I plant mine in mid Feb, it works for me so why change.
Koala girl, i grow my garlic in patio pots, and i only plant them about 5 inches a part (single clove), this works for me. I never understand why the advice given is to plant them so far a part in the first place?
