I would be very grateful if some kind gardener could identify the cucurbits I have grown, they spead and climb (given the chance) & produce a profusion of pear-shaped fruits about 5" (12cm) long,(they do not get any bigger) are creamy yellow colour and have a lumpy/warty surface. they are good to eat and have a mild nutty flavour.
hello, they sound like chinese bottle variety joanne
Thanks Joanne, but mine are pear shaped, not like the almost egg-timer shapes I found when I searched for 'Chinese bottle'.
Sounds as if it could be a crookneck squash. Some have very little of the crookneck.
funny that cause the search i did said that chinese bottle were pear shaped. I do hope you find out eventually joanne
