How much do you pay for Association subscriptions please?
We have some debate in our new association
we pay £15 for a haf plot which is excellent value - think the full plots are £28
Hi lotti newbi,
I agree the plots are excellent value. Apart from the food etc. I've so enjoyed mine, you'd pay a lot more to go swimming each week for instance.
I actually need to know how much you pay for you allotment association subs, it's usually about £3.
For some associations this includes the £2 fee for the Naltional Society for Alotment and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG).
I just wanted to take a sounding of other people's practice in case I'm challenged!
Thanks, Lottie

The question is about allotment associations, not allotment rentals.
My allotment association costs £3 per year, which is good value as we also have an allotment shop and toilet on site, and the allotment association runs the shop and cleans the toilet and provides the paper etc.
I love it if there was such a thing here in Ireland. Unfortunatly there's none and plots from the council are around 200euro a year! You're all so lucky!
Ours are £2 per year. What we get for the subs i do not know as we are never told. There must be some reason for them i expect it benefits our plot in some way.
Our association is £5 pa. Not joined yet because it seems like there are some 'political' issues arising from the people involved, and I don't want to be any part of that! Had enough of that when I was working! Doesn't seem like much going on apart from a shop at ours, and it seems that although there are tools, no-one ever gets to use them!
When we went to visit a friends allotment they seemed to have a nice association with advice notices for what to plant etc, on the fences, and special offers, and it seems so much better!
Such is life!
Ours is £2 per annum.
Porthcawl (south wales) horticultural society fees are £4 per annum and good value too selling all sorts pretty cheap. And best of all its just round the corner.
Thanks for answering, there has been some debate over how much we should be paying, at least now I can say that £3.00 or £3.50 is in the midrange.
