I have 6 healthy butternut plants taking over the garden, like Triffids. I have a total of 4 butternut fruit. 3 on one plant! The plants are crawling with flowers, goes without saying, they are all male flowers, bar 4. I was advised to pinch out the tendrils as they get very long, I water and feed regularly. Have I missed something out, or is this par for the course.

We have about three on each of our plants, I don't know if we should expect more, time yet I suppose.

Incidently courgette flowers are absolutely delicious!

I have a frustrating lack of squashes on my plants and what's more annoying is the one that was developing nicely has now rotted at the end. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but after 3 years of trying I'm going to give up on them. Incidentally my cucumbers and courgettes are in the same bed and doing magnificently.
