blighted toms

  I am ok at the moment re blighted tomatoes, but I was talking with another allotmenteer about this and she said that she wouldn't eat any tomatoes that had been blighted this year, although she did not not know from the previous year that it was wrong......why would you avoid eating blighted toms....am I making sense???

  Blight is a truly evil disease.
  I'll have a crack at any plant pest or disease with any means,legal or otherwise, at my disposal but when blight strikes,I throw in the towel. Here in W. Wales,potatoes get blight about the last week in July.
  Re. Greenhouse toms -you should be able to keep blight at bay by ensuring that no water ever gets onto the foliage when watering and keeping your house as dry as possible during the months of July,aug,sept--.
  Blight also destroys the flavour of any tomatoes on the plant. They may look all right but they're not worth eating.

  I may have had blight but managed to keep it to one plant which was immediatly distroyed.
  
  When you say keep the GH dry Barny, this is going to sound obvious but does that mean keeping the humidity down and is this what happens if you hoes down the ground. I kept pouring water over the gravel path in there when the plants were watered
