If possible cut off the whole plant and hang it up, and the tomatoes will ripen gradually.

Give it a couple of weeks yet, we may still get some sunshine. The begining of October is soon enough to bring them in
thak you
i will leave it for a week
hi
It`s October now and I don`t think my outdoor toms(Principe Borghese and San Marzano) are going to ripen much more so they will come in next week.
But those two weeks since my last post made a fair bit off difference
The last of mine are all splitting as they ripen. I think they are ripening slow because of the time of year, and that's just exaggerating the problems with the heavy rainfall I've had recently. It's not like I have much of a choice to keep the watering "regular"
In my old flat I used to have toms ripening up till early December. The plants were bushy ones on a window ledge. The heat from my flat kept them going for far longer than they should have. The downside was that they sometime turned suicidal and jump from the second floor.
