Hi, in need of advise,
I have a chilli plant nicely drying out hung upside down in the GH. I'm not sure what to do with it next. It can't be left there in the GH all winter
Advise is welcome.

Try cutting the pods off the plant, stringing them and allow them to dry out on a hook in your kitchen. Once dried they can be stored in an airtight container.
As an alternative you could freeze them.
GCG can theybe frozen now, they are partially dry.

Yes - you can freeze them as they are.
Reminds me .....I have 25 to pop into the freezer and more to follow. Should keep me in chillies until next year.
should keep me in chillies until next crop.
I have a chilli plant but its my first attempt and there are several red chilli's and quite a few green ones. This is in a pot in my garden, does anyone know how i save it for the Winter? Should i bring it inside? Do i pick the red chilli's off? Any advice would be fantastic Thanks

Hello Jane - I have overwintered a chilli plant on a sunny windowsill, but by the time spring arrived it died back. For this reason I wouldn't consider it worthwhile nurturing a chilli plant over the winter months. It will be better to sow new seeds next year.
The red chilli fruits will be ready to pick now and the green ones can also be picked as they will gradually turn red on their own accord if laid out on a tray/plate indoors.
Hope this helps. Happy chilli picking
