    Hello . . .

I have a raised veg bed being constructed as we speak.

What fruit & veg can I plant now?

I already have red & white onion sets ready to go.

My mum gave me some garlic off her allotment to eat - can I plant the cloves in the ground even though they have been in the fridge for a while?

    Cheers !

p.s. its about 8 foot long and about 3 foot deep (ish)

Whereabouts are you? And what do you like to eat?

Here in the north-west of England, in the past couple of weeks I've sown fenugreek and coriander, spinach and chard, rocket and marigold. I've got onions in, and will be putting garlic in in the next week or so. There's still lots of time to plant Jerusalem artichokes. Now is the time to put in soft fruit, eg strawberries. I wouldn't really recommend raspberries, if you only have one bed, as they tend to get a bit rampant, but it's up to you. Blueberries? a small gooseberry bush?
