I have a weed that looks rather like a chrysanthemum. The leaves are VERY similar, but the 'flowers' are little knobbly things. I thinks it's perennial.
I can't find it on a website, even
who is normally brilliant. I'll try to get a photo to post- if I can remember how.
I left them in thinking it was a chrysanth relative and would have nice flowers. Silly me.
Thanks Lottie
Could it be "feverfew". If it is, it is supposed to be an effective natural remedy;
Just guessing! L
Difficult without a picture,Ducky!!
FeverFew?
"effective natural remedy"
Naw Ducks!! Get proper medicine from your GP!
If not feverfew, which I think is quite a nice flower then another closely related plant: Parthenium hysterophorus
If this, better taken out before seeding, it can be invasive.
ah no happily not likely to be that, UK is a bit too cold! Sorry...
It's certainly not feverfew, which is a smallish plant and has bright green leaves. I have that too, although I try to keep it to the garden bit.
It's more like chrysamthemum, tallish (well when it's got to the stage mine have) bushy with dark stems and dark green (compared with feverfew) leaves just like chrysanths.

Ps. If you treat anything with a natural remedy for heavens sake tell the doctor if you go to him, or get something from the chemist come to that. Many natural remedies contain strong drugs, thats why they work, and you don't need a double dose, it might make you REALLY ill.
I believe that feverfew is very good for migraines, but there is some evidence to suggest that it might cause pregnant women to abort.

That's it, mugwort. Thanks Margaretstar & Mr-Know-It-All.
It's been annoying me for ages that I couldn't identify it.
Thanks again,

Glad the ID is correct and yes, I did have to slap my fingers straying to some mischievous reply about the subject as it stood
I'm sure it would have been... interesting!
wild Chrysanthemum is a difficult weed very common on sandy soils
it has no flower worth the name
you need to dig up every last bit of root
