    im new to gardening,and iv just got an allotment whot can i plant now id like to plant potatos do i get them from a garden center do you no ???

    No - potatoes are planted in the spring (and yes - you do get them from garden centres)

    What to plant now? Garlic and onions.

    I would invest in a book such as Carol Klein's "grow your own veg" which will help with the basics

    Hi Jackie

    Welcome to the gardening world - which gets more & more interesting!
    You could plant some peas in the next few days - the hardy variety like Meteor- & some broad beans (Aquadulce are best for the autumn.)

    How about soft fruit? Now is an ideal time for planting.

    "The allotment gardener's handbook" by Alan Titchmarsh.

    I.S.B.N. 0 7278 2026 5. It is getting on a bit but it gives good advice from the Rules and reg's for allotments, a good write up on most veggies and how long seeds should last. Cheers and I hope you do well Tony.
