I forget these days that growers need to consider disease resistant varieties and that's because I've been using a Sulfume Hotbox now for about ten years and not had any problem with blight or spider mite. I have it on a timer working for a couple of hours every night. It gently vaporises sulphur which condenses on the leaves. You can't see, or taste it but it keeps pest and diseases at bay. Ok, it costs a bob or two, you need a supply of electricity and it's not organic but definitely worth investing in as the results have proven. They appear on ebay sometimes, new and second hand. Here's the company's web page which explains the science behind the Hotbox.
Forgive me if this has been posted before but I'm new to this.

Hello zoomer44. I presume that's the sound of a light bulb going on in your head? If so, I'm please I've managed to help someone!
PS. For Sulfume Hotbox please read Hotbox Sulfume. I seem to have done a Robin Reliant with the name!
