I tried growing spuds for Christmas in the GH, bit of a disaster really, the foilage died back about mid October to my suprise there was a crop in the soil all be it small. I've left it in there, will the spuds still be ok to eat despite being in frozen soil for the past few days.
Can't be sure, but probably yes. I do hope so as mine, also in the greenhouse, have been subjected to -9.

Last year we had snow in Jan/Feb and when I went to dig the plot over in March I found some large potatoes that were somehow missed from the previous year. They looked good to me, and they tasted good too.
It seems to me (from my own experience) that if the potatoes are deep enough, they survive, but if the frost gets them they go mushy.
Thanks for your replies. So if the spuds look ok they should be fine
