Hi all, I was reading a little story today in the local french paper i thought i'd pass on to you.

A young married man in the first december of his married life bought his new wife a chritmas tree for the christmas decs etc,

Now here in this area 'being very much countryside" the trees are offered for sale by the local farmers on the street markets and these trees do have roots on them,

well it works out that this couple planted the tree after christmas in their garden, and 20 years on that tree has grown like hell "it's massive' and so the couple decided to off this tree this christmas to the local coucil for the christmas lights that are shown every year in the village square, and today the cherry picker arrived and the tree was cut down and by saturday will be in it's new place of pride complete with lights

    What a nice story.

Hi punpun, yes it's a lovely story. I bought a rooted one for the first time last year, so it will be coming back in next Tuesday (we always do it on the 14th after son's birthday.) It's put on some good growth over the year.

I work for someone who planted out a Xmas tree on her son's 1st birthday , over 50 years ago. It now shades the whole garden, with big roots coming up in the lawn. I don't think it will go until she does though.

    Hi mummyduckegg,
Many thanks for your smashing reply and im pleased you liked the story,
it just shows what people do that cost next to nothing but always has a past worth knowing about,

The fashion these days is to have all kinds of tattoos on the body, but i'd much rather see a planted bush and wonder who planted that and why?

    Regards punpun
