After putting away my garden furniture today I decided to pull up the last of the dig in carrots that I have neglected. To my great surprise they there were actually some edible sized ones. And they were quite nice.
Very good - but didn't you need a crowbar to get them out of the ground? We're snow-free here in Cheshire but ground is rock hard just below surface.
Only one. They were growing in a planter so it probably thawed quite quickly in Bristol.
'They' aught to bring out a carrot variety called "Serendipity" just for those carrots you find unexpectedly while digging for another reason rather than searching for carrots! Cheers, Tony.
